Caliquo, the responsible toothbrush
This is the result of hard work with Grégoire and Marthe, the Caliquo founders. Thanks to their efforts and their audacity, we are happy to act with them by offering a zero waste and eco-friendly alternative to the industrial toothbrush.
Caliquo x Comme Avant
This wooden toothbrush was created as an alternative to single use ones.
Our wooden toothbrush head is replaceable and helps to reduce plastic in our bathroom. The head can be removed and the handle kept. This therefore reduces your waste.
It has a fully compostable beechwood handle, made from sustainably managed forests in France (Jura).
This is an ethical, ecological, and responsible product.
The toothbrush’s assembly and packing are done by French ESATs (Établissement et service d'aide par le travail). These are facilities helping integration or reintegration of disabled people through work.
To compost our toothbrush, you just need need to remove the head and place the handle in your compost bin.
A replaceable head toothbrush
The toothbrush's bristles are made out of soft nylon, pleasant in your mouth. They do not contain any bisphenol A, which is known to be harmful.
This is the best current alternative to animal hair.
It is easy to use. Unlike a classic toothbrush, don't throw it away after three months!
You simply need to remove the head from the handle (careful: the handle must be dry) and then replace it with a new head.
The toothbrush head as the same lifespan as a classic plastic toothbrush. As advised by all dentists, it is recommended to replace your toothbrush head every three months or when the bristles are damaged.
Don’t throw the heads away
The heads are recyclable. However, they require to be specifically managed and Terracycle sorts this type of waste.
We have set up in our shops in Marseille, Paris, and Toulouse, collection boxes where you can bring back your old toothbrush heads.
Many other Terracycle collection points exist. Feel free to find out more in shops near you or ask if your grocery store would like to set up a collection box.
An eco-friendly toothbrush
We also offer a two-head pack, soft or medium, allowing you to use our toothbrush for a minimum of six months. Our refill system makes brushing your teeth more eco-friendly and economical.
Everything are packed in a fully biodegradable cardboard package. A simple packaging, free from anything unnecessary, to give you the best support in your ecological transition.
